Dear Studio Owners,
The SBD Foundation would like to help promote your Foundation Studio Accounts via the Studio Benefit a Life Campaign and provide you a means to raise funds reserved for your studio to give grants and scholarships or to raise funds to help defend our Moo Duk Kwan.
All donations to the SBD Foundation are 100% Tax Deductible as allowed by IRS law.
There are 3 main campaigns of which you may contribute toward:
1. Foundation General Fund, or otherwise known as the General Benefit a Life Campaign.  This is the funds were the Foundation has been able to create grants towards National's Scholarships.  To this date we have awarded 1000.00 toward Nationals and Membership Fees for those with Financial Need.  This year we have 1000.00 more reserved for the 2015 National Festival with 500.00 remaining as we have extended the deadline to July 17th, 2015.  The foundation is actively seeking out grants in hopes to allow our future leaders to open further Studios and or bring more students to your school funded by the Foundation or made possible by Public/Private Grants.
2. Studio Benefit a Life Campaign – This campaign holds restricted funds for your school's use to grant scholarships for your students and local community.  In order to donate to your school's fund, please contact theboard@soobahkdofoundation.org to setup your Foundation Studio Account. 10% of donations are allocated to cover the Foundations operating expenses and falls under the general unrestricted fund. 90% of funds raised will directly benefit your studio. Not many studios has taken advantage of this and I would like to understand why?
3. One Moo Duk Kwan (ONEMDK) – This campaign is to aid in defending our trademark and name.  Starting July 1st, 2015, 100% of all donations raised for this campaign will help pay off our legal obligations with the Trademark Defense as long as the Foundation has 3500.00 in reserves to operate.  You may also donate directly to the Federation but will not be eligible for a Tax Deduction.
There is a great opportunity to support your school and Federation at this years Nationals.  The Foundation will be sponsoring studio's to run their own fundraisers. Please speak to your board rep to make this possible at this year's Nationals!
Sincerely, In Moo Duk Kwan,
Frank Tsai
